Mr. Counter joins NCHHH after serving as Chief Financial Officer/Senior Director of Finance at the Visiting Nurse Association of Vermont and New Hampshire. His tenure at the VNA of Vermont and New Hampshire also included serving as Controller.

The appointment of Mr. Counter as President of NCHHH comes at a critical time, and his background and knowledge will support hospice and home healthcare services throughout Northern New Hampshire. On January 12, 2017, North Country Home Health & Hospice formally affiliated with the North Country Healthcare System, which is comprised of Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Littleton Regional Healthcare, Weeks Medical Center and Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Planning for this affiliation began two years ago, when shifts in state and federal regulations facing hospitals across the US made it clear to leaders in healthcare that changes needed to be made in order to remain financially viable.

According to Russell Keene, President and Chief Financial Officer of North Country Healthcare, "This is a very positive move for NCHHH, as they will become an integral part of the system. It will allow them to continue to provide high quality patient care in a cost effective manner. We are confident that this affiliation and consolidation of home health and hospice care services will only enhance patient care."
