LRH Appoints New Hospitalist

Littleton, NH - The Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees and Medical Staff have appointed Kuyilan Karai Subramanian, MD as the newest Hospitalist to join the medical staff at LRH. Hospitalists at LRH provide a professional focus in medical care to our inpatients during their stay at LRH.

Dr. Subramanian comes to LRH with more than ten years of experience in Medicine. He completed his MD Residency in Internal Medicine at Bronx - Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, NY. He was born in India where he did his schooling and received his undergraduate medical degree - MBBS from Sri Ramachandra University, one of the top medical institutions in India. His Clinical experience comes from many other institutions including Exchange Clinical Clerk at Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals; Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA during his medical school days; and as Medical Officer at Y.R. Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research & Education in India treating patients with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Subramanian also served as Medical Officer at the Rotary Club of Chennai treating people in Tsunami affected villages in coastal regions of Chennai, India upon his graduation. He has also worked as a Research Fellow in Nephrology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston focusing on chronic kidney disease epidemiology in South East Asian countries and leading multicenter clinical research projects.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Subramanian has a background and passion for music and has received numerous awards including Medical School Honors for Securing First Class Pass in Medical School Examinations, distinction in Grade II-Theory of Music Examinations from Trinity College of Music in London, and Best Solo Instrumentalist Award for four consecutive years in Medical School cultural events.
Dr. Subramanian also has many years of volunteer experience serving as music director composing and conducting music for Christmas Pantomime shows conducted by The Little Theatre, a non-profit organization in aid of education for underprivileged children based in Chennai, India. His hobbies and interests include music, painting, photography and tennis. He was formally trained in Indian Classical Music and Western Classical Music from Trinity College in London, UK. Dr. Subramanian is fluent in English and Tamil.
