Oncology/Hematology

Oncology/Hematology refer to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer and blood diseases. Hematology includes such conditions as anemia, leukemia and lymphoma. The Medical Oncologist evaluates patients with cancer of all the body's organ systems such as the breast, lung, colon, prostate and others. The Medical Oncologist also acts as the provider or coordinator of different kinds of treatment such as chemotherapy, biotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation or surgery.
