More than 240 volunteers provide high-quality, compassionate customer services to our patients, visitors, and community members who come to Littleton Regional Healthcare (LRH).
Volunteers staff key areas throughout LRH, including the Main Entrance Reception Desk, Medical Office Building Information Desk, Upper Atrium Registration Desk, Lower Atrium Information Desk, and the Same Day Surgery Desk. Volunteers also staff our Gift Shop and Gift Kiosk as well as provide assistance to over 20 departments within the hospital.
Volunteers provide companionship and transport needs for our patients, as well as massage therapy, reiki treatments, aroma therapy, guided meditation, and music therapy to our in-patients. In-patients may also receive a visit from one of the hospital's visiting volunteers or therapy dogs, and may be offered the temporary use of an iPad as part of the Volunteer Department's iPad lending program.
There are many volunteer opportunities to choose from at Littleton Regional Healthcare, including:
Complementary Therapy Program
LRH is pleased to announce that we offer free complementary therapies to our in-patients as a way to promote wellness, relaxation and healing. Our Complementary Therapy Coordinator works closely with the clinical staff to determine which patients would benefit from the program. We have specially trained volunteers that provide massage therapy, reiki treatments, aroma therapy, pet therapy, and guided meditation. We also have over 30 musicians who take turns playing and/or singing for our patients.
