Littleton Regional Healthcare's 22nd Annual North Country Women's Health Conference

On Monday, May 12th, 2014, 360 women from all over New England came together for Littleton Regional Healthcare's 22nd Annual North Country Women's Health Conference.
Carrie Myers Smith, personal trainer and fitness instructor led a Fit in Fifteen class demonstrating ways to get in shape that do not take a lot of time and can be done just about anywhere. In fact, it was so nice outside the class of 100 stepped outside to enjoy the fresh air.

Participants coming from as far away as Rhode Island and Connecticut gathered at the OMNI Mount Washington Resort for this daylong celebration focusing on women's physical and emotional wellbeing. They learned from lectures on important women's wellness issues, visited more than 36 vendors who filled the Presidential Spa & Conference Center, participated in free health screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose, and enjoyed Reiki, Reflexology and free chair massages. Attendees chose from eighteen lectures on traditional and complementary medicine, from osteoarthritis, shoulder arthrolplasty, and incontinence to sleep and women, blood pressure issues and women, and sports injuries.
LRH partnered with the North Country Health Consortium/Northern NH Area Health Education Center again this year to offer sessions geared toward physicians, nurses and behavioral health specialists so participants could gain continuing education credits by attending.
Keynote speaker and entertainer Diana Jordan captivated the audience from the moment she walked on the stage. Jordan, a motivational speaker and humorist helps audiences learn how to deal with life stresses through laughter. She teaches her audiences about how great laughter is in nourishing yourself and changing your outlook on life. She talked about her journey with breast cancer and how laughter and a positive outlook helped her through the most difficult time in her life.

More than 36 vendors participated in the event bringing health related information, alternative medicine, a fun shopping experience and resources for all attendees.
