October 6, 2017
Littleton, NH - Littleton Regional Healthcare's Laboratory, Littleton, New Hampshire, received accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection. LRH's laboratory director, Lorily York, M.T. (ASCP) stated, "The laboratory staff at LRH are working to ensure each of the 1405 standards are addresses and that LRH is meeting these standards as we interpret them. The CAP program provides an opportunity for staff to continually add quality to the processes and procedures they work on daily." LRH's Laboratory is one of nearly 8,000 CAP-accredited laboratories nationwide.
During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examine the laboratory's record and quality control procedures for the preceding two years. They also assess the staff qualifications, laboratory equipment, facilities, safety program and records, as well as the overall management of the laboratory. The stringent inspection program is designed to specifically ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients. Comments from the CAP inspector related to the LRH staff included, "The staff at LRH were helpful, friendly, and often knew the answers before they were even asked. This is one of the best inspections we've ever done."
Robert Nutter, President at LRH states, "I commend the LRH Laboratory staff for their outstanding commitment to the medical and clinical staff at LRH, and for their dedication to providing high-quality care to patients and their families."
