2025 Nursing Awards

The Above & Beyond Award was established at LRH in 2020 and is presented annually during National Nurses Week to a nurse who consistently exceeds expectations and makes outstanding contributions to our success. We are pleased to announce this year’s recipient, Alisha Hackney, RN!

Alisha brings an extraordinary level of professionalism, innovation, and heart to every aspect of her practice. What sets her apart is not just her clinical excellence, but her deep commitment to advancing evidence-based nursing and improving outcomes.

Her work has helped shape practice changes, guide policy updates, and promote a culture of inquiry and critical thinking. Whether she’s reviewing literature or working alongside clinical teams to pilot a new initiative, Alisha brings clarity, accuracy, and a thoughtful approach to everything she touches.

Despite working per diem, Alisha invests deeply in the mission of nursing. She shows up, not just physically, but intellectually and emotionally. Her kindness, empathy, and humility make her a trusted resource for colleagues and a comforting presence for patients. Alisha doesn’t clock in and out…she leans in. She asks hard questions, seeks the best answers, and makes sure patients and staff alike benefit from the latest in research and practice. Her dedication to the field of nursing, combined with her compassionate nature, makes her an exceptional nurse and a true force for positive change.

Please join us in recognizing Alisha on this well-deserved honor!
LRH’s Nursing Excellence Award was first presented in 2013 and has since been awarded annually to a nurse who best embodies the traits of compassion and nursing care excellence. This year’s Nursing Excellence Award was presented to Michelle Limoges, RN!

Michelle is the kind of nurse every patient hopes for and every colleague strives to be. Not only is she clinically skilled, but she is profoundly compassionate. Her kindness radiates in every patient encounter, whether she’s comforting someone in pain, educating a worried family, or simply sitting with someone during a vulnerable moment. She doesn’t just provide care. She connects, building trust and safety for those she serves.

What sets Michelle apart is her fierce advocacy not just for patients, but for her peers and the profession of nursing. She ensures that every voice is heard, every concern is addressed, and every patient receives care that is equitable, informed, and respectful. Her attention to the small things, such as charting with accuracy, anticipating patient needs, and checking in on colleagues, demonstrates her diligence and meticulous nature.

Please join us in extending our congratulations to Michelle and thanking her for her devotion to nursing excellence!
