Volunteering at Littleton Regional Healthcare

Over 65 active volunteers provide high-quality, compassionate customer services to our patients, visitors, and community members who come to Littleton Regional Healthcare (LRH).

Volunteers staff key areas throughout LRH, including the Main Entrance Reception Desk, Medical Office Building Information Desk, Lower Atrium Information Desk, and the Same-Day Surgery Desk. Volunteers also staff our Gift Shop. They help over 5 departments within the hospital.

There are many volunteer opportunities to choose from at Littleton Regional Healthcare, including:

Main Entrance Reception Desk — The Main Entrance Reception Desk is staffed by volunteers who greet patients, their families, and visitors and staff. Volunteers check in patients for procedures and exams and provide directions and transport assistance to various areas throughout the hospital. This desk is staffed from 7am to 6pm.

Same-Day Surgery Desk — Volunteers staff an information desk in the Same-Day Surgery waiting room every Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These volunteers assist patients and their families by communicating with the clinical staff, the patients and their families.

Moose Ledge Gift Shop — Our Moose Ledge Gift Shop, managed by the Littleton Healthcare Auxiliary, is yet another area where you will find volunteers working. It is a great place to shop for a variety of unique gifts!

Medical Office Building Information Desk — The Medical Office Building Information Desk is located at the main entrance of the Medical Office Building side of our campus and is the area of LRH that houses many of our physicians and providers. Volunteers at this desk greet each patient and/or visitor as they enter the building and offer directions, wheelchair escorts, and customer service for those in need. The desk is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Lower Atrium Information Desk — Volunteers at this reception desk greet patients as they enter the building. They provide directions and escort patients and visitors to their destinations.

Clerical Positions Within Hospital Departments — For those who would instead help out behind the scenes, there are currently 5 departments that use volunteers for a few hours each week to help with typing, data entry, copying, scanning, and mailings, and on special projects and events.

Junior Volunteers Program — Our junior volunteer program is ideal for 16 & 17 years olds who are interested in a career in healthcare. This eight week summer program provides students with an opportunity to volunteer two to three days per week to get real experience in a hospital setting as well as volunteer hours.
