RN Clinical Supervisor - (FT) Nights - Nursing Leadership Opportunity

Under the direction of the Clinical Directors, the Clinical Supervisor provides clinical and administrative leadership to the night shift staff.  This position will be responsible for clinical operations related to patient care in the absence of, or in collaboration with, the Clinical Directors for a designated shift. You will use your knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of patient care through staff guidance, education, and departmental collaboration while providing supervision of clinical staff to ensure optimal care delivery. The Clinical Supervisor acts as a Nursing resource for front-line staff, coordinates and facilitates interdepartmental patient flow, coordinates and facilitates staffing for nursing services, and is a resource for all patient care-related questions, concerns, or issues.

Responsibilities: A listing of the critical responsibilities.

  • The Clinical Supervisor understands and ensures adherence to all Littleton Regional Healthcare and department-specific policies and procedures.
  • Directly oversees clinical nursing and ancillary staff in the absence of, and in conjunction with, the Clinical Directors.
  • Plans and takes a proactive approach to fluctuations in staffing and patient acuity needs.
  • Provides direct patient care and patient care coverage when appropriate. Responsible for ensuring staff meal breaks and sometimes taking up to 3 patients as an assignment if needed.
  • Rounds on all nursing units regularly throughout shift to observe and evaluate patient care, address family or patient concerns, and assess and facilitate inter/intradepartmental communication and patient flow.
  • Provides formal and informal feedback regarding nursing staff’s performance to the Clinical Director responsible for that unit.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in New Hampshire or a Compact State  required
  • Bachelor of Science is strongly preferred
  • Must have or obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire
  • 1-2 years previous clinical supervisory experience desired
