Join us in recognizing the most recent recipient of The BEE Award – Derek Roberts, DPT! 
The BEE Award for Exceptional Caregivers was established this time last year to complement our DAISY Award, which is specific to nursing. Standing for “Being Extraordinary Every day”, any care team member can be nominated for and receive The BEE Award. Both the DAISY and BEE Awards are presented quarterly and nominations are accepted from patients, community members, and LRH personnel.
Derek was nominated by a recent patient of his, Marie. In her nomination, Marie called Derek the “ultimate professional” and praised his ability to listen, remember, and connect with his patients. Marie also noted how Derek always took the time to explain procedures, check in with her throughout her care, and make sure she understood how to optimize her at-home exercises.
We were thrilled to have Marie join us earlier this week to present Derek with his award. She even brought a special gift of her own to recognize his kindness. Marie submitted the nomination for Derek because of his patient-centered, compassionate approach to care and his expertise. We are lucky to have Derek in our Rehabilitation Services Department and honored to present him with this much-deserved recognition!
