We were honored to present Eric Santos, PT, DPT, OCS with The BEE Award! The BEE Award for Exceptional Caregivers was established in April of 2023 as a complement to our DAISY Award. Standing for Being Extraordinary Every day, any care team member is eligible to be nominated for and receive The BEE Award. Both the DAISY and BEE Awards are presented quarterly and nominations are accepted from patients, community members, and LRH personnel.
In her nomination, LRH volunteer and retired LRH nurse, Grace, shared how Eric first met her physical therapy needs in 2018 following a knee replacement. Recently, Grace was referred back to physical therapy due to a chronic back condition. She was pleased to find out her therapist was, once again, Eric. Grace noted how focused Eric is on his patients and how professional, personable, and approachable he is. She emphasized how thorough Eric is in his caregiving while providing a calm environment.
“Eric demonstrates the exercises one needs, guides the patient in doing them correctly, and on subsequent visits, will do them alongside the patient,” included Grace. “He even walked me to the ED during a session to be assessed for blood pressure concerns,” she added.
