Littleton Regional Healthcare (LRH) recently held its 51st Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet on June 3, 2026. This year’s theme was “Garden Party” and honored LRH’s many volunteers for their continued support of the organization.
The evening included a dinner, a special awards ceremony, and a presentation of pins for years and hours of service. Dawn Lambert, Volunteer Coordinator at LRH, welcomed the volunteers and asked for a moment of silence to remember three members of the program who passed away this last year. These individuals included Esther Erdies, Jan Kotok, and Sandy Lozeau.
Robert Nutter, LRH President and Chief Executive Officer, started the evening by offering his sincere gratitude to the volunteers for their efforts at LRH. Koren Superchi, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, echoed his message, emphasizing how vital the volunteers are to the organization and the community it serves. Both executives celebrated the outstanding work of the volunteers and thanked them for contributing a collective 9,342 hours of service last year.
As the distribution of awards began, Lambert recognized new and returning volunteers and then presented pins for cumulative hours and years of service. Volunteers receiving their 100-hour pins included Lorelei Barlow, Wayne Burger, Clayton Elliott, BG Frazier, Kevin Havens, George Mitchell, Guy Trag, and Pam Trag. Carole Bogat, Ruthie Bowles, and Tina Peabody received a pin for 500 hours of service.
Receiving 1,000-hour pins were Doug Hadfield and Ana Menedez. Geraldine Berger received a pin commemorating 2,500 hours, Elaine Marshall received a 3,000-hour pin, and a 3,500-hour pin was presented to Lilo Rheinstein. Michael Miscio was recognized for not only receiving a 5,000-hour pin, but with a contribution of 798 hours this year, the most of all the volunteers, he also received a 5,500-hour pin as well.
Next, pins were awarded for milestone years of volunteering. A ten-year pin was awarded to Susan Strong. Receiving 15-year pins were Grace Bigelow, Lorraine Fougere, and Toni Thomas.
Jeanne Madden joined Lambert in presenting the “Julia M. Fogg Founder’s Award” in memory of Jewel Fogg, Madden’s mother and founder of the Volunteer
Program at LRH. This award is presented each year to the individual who best demonstrates the qualities and attributes essential to the founding and support of the Volunteer Program: care, compassion, leadership, community service, and inspiration. LRH volunteer Robert Schrader was the 2026 recipient of this award.
The final award of the evening was presented by Gene and Caryn Clark in memory of their parents, Peg and Gene Clark, who were long-time volunteers at LRH. This
year’s recipient of the “Peg and Gene Clark Volunteer Award” was Wayne Burger for his dedication to service as hospital chaplain and for the many patient interactions he has had since joining the organization.
