Join us in recognizing the recipients of our first-ever DAISY Team Award, the nursing staff of our Sauter Birthing Suite!
The DAISY Team Award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s international program recognizing the extraordinary, compassionate care nurses and nurse-led teams provide every day. This award is presented following a nomination from a local family who experienced an unimaginably difficult and unexpected loss. The family shared that throughout their experience, the Sauter Birthing Suite team provided exceptional care marked by compassion, empathy, and unwavering support.
Three clinicians in particular were named in the nomination. Tara served as a dedicated advocate for the family. She became a steady and grounding presence, delivering deeply personalized care. Her support extended beyond clinical needs, offering meaningful emotional care when the family needed it most.
During the overnight hours, Tricia brought a sense of calm and comfort. Her gentle, attentive approach helped ease the weight of those difficult moments. Through her consistent and thoughtful presence, she ensured the family felt cared for and supported without ever feeling overwhelmed.
Tina and her team also played a vital role in guiding the family through the experience. Recognizing that administrative processes can feel overwhelming, Tina approached each step with compassion and sensitivity. Her leadership helped create a supportive environment that had a deeply meaningful and lasting impact.
While the Sauter Birthing Suite is a place typically associated with welcoming new life, the team demonstrated the same level of care, dignity, and humanity in the face of profound loss. Their collective efforts ensured the family felt supported, comforted, and held during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
