In late May, we held our 47th Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet to honor our volunteers for their enthusiastic support and many hours of service to LRH.
Following dinner, there were remarks by Koren Superchi, COO/CNO, and a special video message from LRH President & CEO, Bob Nutter. Dawn Lambert, Volunteer Coordinator, then presented service pins and the annual special awards.
Volunteers who received their 100-hour pins included Barbara Berko and Michele Ducharme-Barth. Ana Menendez received a pin for 500 hours of service. Receiving 1,000-pins were Geraldine Berger, Pauline German, Lena Hemenway, and Mary Ragusa. Linda Mordhorst received a pin commemorating 2,000 hours while 2,500-hour pins went to Lilo Rheinstein and Dottie Herbert. 3,000-hour pins went to Beryl Klahre and Maggie Starr. Laurie Morgan was recognized for 3,500 hours and Mike Miscio received a pin for 4,000 hours of service.
Next, pins were awarded for milestone years of volunteering. Five-year pins were awarded to Pam Abernathy, Pauline German, and Doug Hadfield. Receiving 10-year pins were Nancy Hadfield, Judy Lavin, and Mary Sturtevant. Jeff and Patty Howard each received a pin for 15 years of service, and a 20-year pin was awarded to Linda Mordhorst.
The “Julia M. Fogg Founder’s Award” is in memory of Jewel Fogg, founder of the Volunteer Program at LRH. This award is presented each year to the individual who best demonstrates the qualities and attributes essential to the founding and support of the Volunteer Program: care, compassion, leadership, community service, and inspiration. LRH volunteer, Grace Bigelow, was the 2024 recipient of this award.
The final award of the evening is presented in memory of Peg and Gene Clark, who were long-time volunteers at LRH. This award is presented to a pair of volunteers. This year’s recipients of the “Peg and Gene Clark Award” were Deb McKenzie and Judi Lavin for their dedication to service and the many hours of volunteer time donated to the Moose Ledge Gift Shop as the General Manager and Buyer respectively.
