Littleton Regional Healthcare and Dartmouth Health

From primary care to tertiary care, we have you covered.

Littleton Regional Healthcare proudly partners with New Hampshire’s only Level I Trauma Center, Dartmouth Health (D-H). Partnering with D-H allows LRH to provide the expert-level care our region deserves while staying close to home. By working together, patients have access to D-H’s highly specialized medical professionals, supported by LRH’s dedicated clinicians and nursing staff. When a patient’s healthcare needs would be better served at D-H, LRH and D-H work together to provide a seamless transfer from one facility to another via ambulance or Dartmouth Health Advanced Response Team (DHART) air transportation. LRH’s central location to the communities we serve allows us to quickly evaluate a patient, stabilize their condition in our Emergency Department, and then determine the need for transfer.

LRH and D-H have combined resources and expertise, and clinically aligned our organizations with one thing in mind – you, our patients. This seamless connection between our facilities guarantees continuity of care and ensures our patients receive the benefits of tertiary care combined with the comfort and convenience of their community hospital. LRH and D-H work closely together in a number of ways to bring high-quality care to our region.

Virtualist Program

In early 2020, Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Center for Connected Care launched a pilot Virtualist Program at LRH. The program offers virtual consultations in high-demand specialties to provide patients with access to specialty care which may not be available locally. Virtualists are board-certified physicians who care for patients in a virtual setting using telehealth technology and HIPAA-compliant software. This innovative program allows patients to receive the specialty care they need while avoiding travel to a tertiary care center, such as D-H.

Transportation is one of the leading issues when it comes to access to healthcare. In a rural setting like the North Country of New Hampshire, providing alternative options for care that allow patients to stay close to home is vital. D-H telehealth services offer accessible, efficient, and effective care by complementing and enhancing existing programs and services provided in local communities. This virtual service also decreases the need to transfer patients for care, allowing patients to stay at LRH in most cases. For example, Tele-ICU services enable experienced critical care providers from Dartmouth-Hitchcock to supplement a patient’s bedside care team remotely.

LRH Oncology, Hematology, & Infusion Center

Littleton Regional Healthcare, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center have partnered to make Oncology, Hematology, and Infusion services easily accessible to our region. We provide high-quality, compassionate care close to home. Board-certified and highly specialized physicians of Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center see patients in the state-of-the-art Oncology, Hematology, & Infusion Center at LRH with the support of LRH’s certified nurses who specialize in the care of Oncology and Hematology patients. Together, we provide diagnosis, treatment, and recovery care to our patients. A wide variety of cancer and infusion treatments are available, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, and highly targeted therapies.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Cardiology at LRH

Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Cardiovascular Medicine providers see patients in a satellite office location within LRH, allowing patients access to expert cardiovascular care close to home. These board-certified Cardiologists and Electrophysiologists work closely with LRH’s Cardiac Lab and their D-H colleagues to serve patients of the North Country and provide access to testing, imaging, diagnosis, and treatment.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Dermatology at LRH

Similar to Cardiology, Dartmouth-Hitchcock also has a satellite Dermatology office at LRH to provide dermatological care to the region. One of several D-H Dermatology locations throughout Northern New England, the Littleton office provides treatment for many common dermatological conditions.
