Dr. David Hirsch serves as the Associate Medical Director of Littleton Regional Healthcare’s Emergency Department, its EMS Medical Director and Mobile Integrated Health Medical Director, as well as an attending physician in its Emergency Department.
Beyond his roles at LRH, Dr. Hirsch is also the Medical Director for the New Hampshire State Police, an instructor for the Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Operational Medical Support in Washington, DC, a Tactical Physician for the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit, and holds several other positions, including for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
Dr. Hirsch recently returned from a federal deployment to provide medical support during the 2024 North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit in Washington, DC. He is a long-standing member of the National Disaster Medical System’s (NDMS) Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) and, more recently, began deploying as part of the NDMS Special Purpose Emergency Augmentation Resource (SPEAR) team. During events like the NATO Summit, DMAT and SPEAR personnel stand ready to provide advanced life support and basic medical care to those attending or working the event.
These federal medical response teams work behind the scenes at some of the biggest national events, often at the request of the Congressional Office of the Attending Physician, the U.S. Capitol Police, or the U.S. Secret Service, so local and state resources are not overwhelmed.
