Interim Chief Medical Officer

Effective late May, Dr. Richard McKenzie is serving as Interim Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Littleton Regional Healthcare. He will continue to serve as a physician in North Country Primary Care on a part-time basis in addition to this new role.

Dr. McKenzie has been a valued member of our Medical Staff since 2014. He currently holds leadership roles as the Medical Director for LRH’s Rural Health Clinic (RHC), Accountable Care Organization (ACO), as well as our urgent care centers in both Littleton and Lincoln.

Dr. McKenzie brings a diverse and impressive background to this interim role. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Dartmouth College, followed by a Bachelor of Engineering with a focus in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth. He also holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Golden Gate University. After nearly a decade in the manufacturing industry, Dr. McKenzie transitioned to medicine, earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. Before joining LRH, he served as Section Chief of Family Medicine at Elliot Health System.
