LITTLETON, NH – Littleton Regional Healthcare (LRH) joins the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the entire healthcare industry nationwide in celebrating National Nurses Week beginning May 6th through May 12th. This week-long celebration is in honor of the hard work and dedication that nurses put forth day in and day out throughout the year.
These individuals deserve this recognition and celebration more than ever as they continue to report to the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic every day. LRH is proud of the work its nurses are doing to keep the community safe during this health emergency. These heroes continue to provide the high-quality level of care the community expects and deserves.
Nurses first received a national holiday in 1954 and it has since evolved to be a designated full week of recognition. The ANA has been supporting the nursing profession since 1896, leading initiatives such as National Nurses Week. The ANA encourages the celebration of National Nurses Week by state and district nurses associations, other specialty nursing organizations, educational facilities, and independent healthcare companies and institutions.
The American Nurses Association represents the interests of the nation’s 4 million registered nurses (RNs) through joint membership with our constituent and state nurses associations, direct membership in ANA, and through our partnership specialty nursing and affiliate organizations.
