LITTLETON, NH – In a heartwarming gathering,  the dedicated volunteers of the Moose Ledge Gift Shop at Littleton Regional Healthcare (LRH) came together for a special thank-you lunch on Thursday, January 18, 2024. This marked the first all staff in-person gathering since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Volunteers were treated to a delightful lunch featuring vegetable barley soup and assorted sandwiches thoughtfully prepared by the LRH cafeteria. Amidst the camaraderie, the volunteers received updates from Gift Shop Manager, Deborah McKenzie, and Buyer, Judi Lavin. LRH Auxiliary Co-Presidents, George Mitchell and Claire Mei, also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the tireless efforts of the Moose Lodge Gift Shop volunteers.

A memorable picture capturing the essence of the occasion includes all the volunteers who attended.

The Moose Ledge Gift Shop, operated by LRH Auxiliary, serves as the primary fundraiser for the organization. The proceeds from gift shop sales play a crucial role in supporting various programs and services benefiting the local community. These initiatives include providing $20,000+ in scholarships to area high school students and LRH employees each year, supporting the new Lactation Pod in the upper atrium of LRH, contributing to The Doorway at LRH, and backing essential programs such as Sweats for the Emergency Department, and the Reach Out and Read program.

Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, the Moose Ledge Gift Shop volunteers have demonstrated unwavering commitment, ensuring the shop’s smooth operation and contributing significantly to the success of LRH Auxiliary’s community-focused endeavors.

As part of its ongoing efforts, the Moose Ledge Gift Shop is actively seeking additional volunteers to join its dedicated team. Positions available include General Manager, Scheduler, Shop Merchandiser, and Shop Clerks. Whether overseeing shop operations, managing schedules, or assisting with sales transactions, there are roles suited to various skills and interests, and training will be provided.

LRH Auxiliary encourages community members to spread the word about these volunteer opportunities. If you or someone you know is interested in contributing a few hours a week to support the Moose Ledge Gift Shop and the LRH Auxiliary’s impactful programs, please contact LRHAuxiliary@gmail.com or call the gift shop at (603) 444-9507.
